From 6 to 10 December 2016, representatives of the State Agrarian University of Moldova (SAUM) vice-rector V. Vrancean, Head of the Department of Forestry Y.Gumanyuk, Vice Dean of Horticulture Faculty V. Sfekla, participated in the international conference„Towards sustainable forestry and sustainable education”which was held at theSt. Petersburg State Forest Technical University(ЛТУ) within the projectTEMPUS No. 543946-TEMPUS-1-2013-1-ES-TEMPUS-JPHES (SUPPORT FOR VOCATIONAL TRAINING IN SUSTANABLE FORESTRY (SUSFOR))
At the conference werepresented and discussed following topics: education as a catalyst for sustainable forest development, lifelong learning as a priority direction in the interest of sustainable development of the forestry sector and others.
SUSFOR Project Consortium members discussed the achieved results and outlined the further plan of action until March 2017, the project completion time. An important step to further interaction was the signing of a cooperation agreement between SAUM and St. Petersburg State Forest Technical University named after SM Kirov (ЛТУ) in the field of academic mobility, organization of seminars, conferences, joint research, and others.
